Tata Trust Board Meeting Today: Tata Trust board members are set to meet on Tuesday, November 11, under the leadership of Chairman Noel Tata. This will be the first Tata Trust meeting after the exit of ex-member Mehli Mistry.
Key dignitaries, including Noel Tata, Venu Srinivasan, Vijay Singh, Pramit Javeri, Jehangir HC Jehangir, and Darius Khambata, will be present in the board meeting. Mehli Mistry, a close aide of late Ratan Tata, saw his tenure end on October 28. What transpired later was an intense boardroom battle, which attracted the central government's attention.

Amid the tussle over renewal of Mehli Mistry's tenure, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with top Tata Group leaders, N Chandrasekaran and Noel Tata, on October 7. The meeting was also attended by Home Minister Amit Shah to address the internal governance dispute within Tata Trusts.
Tata Trust Meeting Today: What To Expect?
The Tata Trust session will be crucial for the trust's internal dynamics under Noel Tata's leadership. The Tata Trust board meeting is likely to proceed without much disruption.
The meeting may include discussions and consideration of how the members will maintain stability. There will also be an attempt to bring consensus in the wake of the leadership change. Additionally, there may be discussions about legal challenges due to Mehli Mistry's exit.
Mehli Mistry Calls It A Quit!
Earlier there were speculations that Mehli Mistry may opt for legal way to question his departure from Tata Trust board. However the former trustee of Tata Trust Board announced his exit from the group in an open letter.
""I believe that precipitating matters would cause irreparable harm to the reputation of the Tata Trusts. Therefore, in the spirit of Mr. Ratan N Tata, who always put public interest before his own, I hope that the actions of the other trustees going forward will be guided by the principles of transparency, good governance, and public interest," Mehli Mistry stated in his letter.
The outcome of this session could provide insights into how effectively Noel Tata can lead the trust while ensuring cohesion among its members.
The internal discord among the trustees was largely focused on who should represent the board and how control should be managed within the holding company. These issues have been at the forefront since Ratan Tata's demise. Mistry had been a close associate and confidante of Ratan Tata, playing a crucial role as one of the executors of his will. His removal marks a significant shift in the dynamics within Tata Trusts.
