The technology sector has welcomed Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's reappointment as the Minister of Electronics and IT, anticipating a stable and continuous policy framework that is expected to spur growth and boost investor confidence. Vaishnaw, who also oversees the Railways and Information and Broadcasting ministries, assumed his duties on Tuesday. Ajai Chowdhry, a prominent figure in the IT industry, emphasized the critical period ahead for India to emerge as a formidable competitor against China in the global electronics market. The Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) Chairman, Pankaj Mohindroo, expressed satisfaction with the Prime Minister's decision to maintain consistency in key ministerial positions. He pointed out that such continuity is vital for sustaining investor confidence and fostering growth across various sectors, including finance, commerce, and environmental ministries. Mohindroo is optimistic about India's journey towards becoming a global nucleus for electronics manufacturing by 2030.
V Veerappan, Chairman of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), praised Minister Vaishnaw for his significant contributions to semiconductor and electronics manufacturing growth. He anticipates that Vaishnaw's continued leadership will further bolster the sector, while Minister of State Jitin Prasada's fresh perspectives will aid in economic expansion and job creation. IESA is keen on collaborating with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to fulfill the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat) and position the country as a leader in semiconductors and electronics on the global stage.
Upon taking charge of MeitY, Vaishnaw stated that the government aims to build upon previous achievements and utilize technology and digital innovations to enhance the quality of life for people across India. This statement underscores the government's commitment to leveraging digital solutions for societal benefits.
