Tesla is set to launch its first showroom in India on 15 July 2025, introducing the Model Y SUV. Subsequent showrooms are planned in Delhi, marking a strategic expansion into the Indian electric vehicle market.
Tesla, the renowned American electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to launch its first showroom in India. This 'experience centre' will open on 15 July 2025 at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. While there is no official confirmation, media speculation suggests that Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, might attend the inauguration.

The Model Y SUV will be Tesla's debut vehicle in India. The company plans to import this model from its Shanghai facility. The Model Y will feature a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system and is expected to be a facelift version. However, test vehicles seen in Mumbai and Pune were of the pre-facelift type.
Location and Expansion Plans
Following the Mumbai launch, Tesla intends to open another showroom in Delhi's Aerocity later this month. This expansion marks Tesla's strategic entry into the Indian market, aiming to capture the growing interest in electric vehicles across the country.
The Model Y is anticipated to come with several advanced features. These include a 15.4-inch infotainment display, automatic climate control, and a panoramic moonroof. Additionally, LED headlamps and tail lamps are expected to be part of the package. Whether it will include ADAS features remains uncertain.
Pricing Expectations for Tesla Model Y
Given that Tesla will import the Model Y into India, its price is projected to range between ₹65 lakh and ₹75 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing reflects the premium nature of Tesla vehicles and their positioning within the Indian market.
The opening of Tesla's first showroom in India signifies a significant step for both the company and Indian consumers interested in electric vehicles. As anticipation builds around this launch, many are eager to see how Tesla's entry will influence India's automotive landscape.
