The petition further claims that Vijay had assured her the association would end, but alleges that it continued, leading to prolonged emotional distress. Sangeeta has argued that the alleged conduct resulted in sustained mental cruelty, public humiliation, and emotional abandonment. The filing also refers to social media discussions and online speculation, which allegedly added to her distress and embarrassment.

Citing these circumstances, the petition contends that the marriage has become "irretrievably broken" and now exists only in legal form, without emotional substance.
