To ensure efficient power distribution and uninterrupted supply during the summer, TPSODL has opened a centralized power system control centre in Berhampur, Odisha. Equipped with advanced technology and communication systems, the centre aims to provide reliable electricity to consumers.
Berhampur, Odisha, February 28: Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPSODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Odisha Government, has taken a significant step towards ensuring efficient power supply by opening a centralized 24x7 power system control centre (PSCC). This state-of-the-art facility will oversee and monitor different power supply feeders to enhance operational efficiency.

Effective Communication and Information Dissemination
The control centre is equipped with dedicated mobile numbers for seamless communication with the respective circles. Additionally, a management information system (MIS) has been implemented to track regular tripping and restoration events. This system enables timely information dissemination to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring prompt response and resolution of power-related issues.
Decentralized Control Centres and Preparations for Summer Demand
To further strengthen its power distribution network, TPSODL has established decentralized control centres in Berhampur, Jeypore, Rayagada, and Bhanjanagar. These centres will provide localized monitoring and control, enhancing the company's ability to address power-related issues efficiently.
Anticipating a peak demand of 820 MW during the upcoming summer season, TPSODL has made comprehensive preparations to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply. The company has set up 814 fuse call centres equipped with the FCC 2.0 mobile application to handle fuse-call complaints efficiently. Sub-division wise night breakdown teams have also been deployed to promptly address 33 KV and 11 KV breakdowns.
Mobile Distribution Substations and Customer-Centric Approach
To cater to emergency requirements, TPSODL has strategically positioned six mobile distribution substations across its six circles. These mobile substations can be quickly deployed to provide temporary power supply in case of unforeseen outages or during maintenance activities.
TPSODL remains committed to delivering uninterrupted and reliable power supply, especially during the challenging summer months. The company's focus on prompt customer service and support, coupled with proactive maintenance, underscores its dedication to meeting the needs of its consumers.
CEO's Statement
Amit Garg, the CEO of TPSODL, emphasized the company's commitment to ensuring reliable power supply. He stated, "We are committed to ensuring uninterrupted and reliable power supply, especially during the demanding summer season. Our focus on prompt customer service and support, along with proactive maintenance, underscores our dedication to meeting the needs of our consumers."
