Indian Exporters to the UK: New DCTS Rules from January 1, 2024

The United Kingdom has replaced its existing origin declaration process under the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) with the UK Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) effective from June 19, 2023. Indian exporters to the UK must now comply with the new DCTS rules to avail concessions on their exports. Goods meeting the UK DCTS Rules of Origin (RoO) requirements will be eligible for concessional import duty rates. Indian exporters are required to use the specified origin declaration wording under the DCTS to self-certify that their exports meet the RoO criteria.
