Shares of Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd witnessed a 5% dip on Wednesday, defying expectations after the company successfully secured seven contracts worth Rs 1,034 crore from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO). The contracts, awarded under the Revamped Reforms and Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme, propel Salasar Techno into a pivotal role in the Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu.
The infrastructure-focused contracts aim to revolutionize the distribution landscape, emphasizing loss reduction and operational efficiency in various districts, including Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Karur (Rural Division), Krishnagiri, Pallikonda, Vellore (Vellore and Katpadi divisions), and Gingee (Villupuram district). Despite this positive development, the company's shares faced a downturn on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), trading at Rs 19.70 per share with nearly a 5% reduction as of 1:05 pm.

In a stock exchange filing, Salasar Techno Engineering highlighted the Notification of Award (NOA) received for these contracts, amounting to Rs 1,033.78 crore from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited. The company's management expressed enthusiasm about the expanded industry footprint and its commitment to contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the communities it serves.
"This contract not only amplifies our footprint in the industry but also reflects our dedication to contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the communities we serve. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies, a dedicated team of professionals, and best practices, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental sustainability throughout the project lifecycle," stated the Salasar Techno Engineering management.
Specializing in turnkey EPC services for the Railway and Power sectors, Salasar Techno Engineering also engages in designing and manufacturing telecom towers, monopoles, and other heavy steel structures. The company boasts an impressive track record, having supplied over 50,000 telecom towers, approximately 746 kilometres of power transmission lines, and around 629 kilometres of railway track. Salasar Techno has successfully served over 600 clients across more than 25 countries.
While the market response to the contract victories was unexpected, the company remains optimistic about its continued growth trajectory. Salasar Techno Engineering's focus on advanced technologies, a skilled workforce, and adherence to global best practices positions it as a key player in the infrastructure development sector.
As the company expands its reach in Tamil Nadu through these contracts, the potential for job creation, improved infrastructure, and enhanced energy distribution capabilities becomes evident. The success of Salasar Techno Engineering in securing these contracts not only signifies its prowess in the industry but also reflects a positive step towards bolstering economic development in the region.
