As scorching heat is gradually gripping most parts of India, air conditioners have become ubiquitous in the country to get relief from the blistering summer. Air conditioners are no longer luxury items and emerged a household essential due to soaring temperature and rising disposable income.
During these times, the BSES power discoms' latest offer has come as a huge relief for many seeking to replace their old air conditioners with energy efficient ACs. Customers will be able to avail up to 63% discounts as part of the new offer that BSES discoms launched, according to statement.

Summer season is reportedly going to be harsher this year as mercury has already hit 40 degrees Celsius mark in National Capital and likely to surge even higher in the coming days, according to BSES.
The statement added, cooling load is expected to account for up to 50% of a household's or a discom's annual energy expense. Therefore, switching to a 5-star energy efficient AC is likely to paly crucial role in bringing down the cost, it stated.
BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) have introduced a limited-tenure scheme namely "AC Replacement Scheme" in alliance with renowned AC manufacturer.
The step is expected to assist domestic consumers of South, West, East, and Central Delhi to switch their old air conditioners with new and energy-efficient 5-star ACs, that will include the next-generation inverter technology models, offering attractive discounts of up to 63% on the maximum retail price, as per the latest statement.
As part of the scheme, nearly 40 window and split AC models of renowned brands will come under offer on a "first cum, first served" basis. It is worth noting that a domestic consumer of BRPL or BYPL will become entitled to exchange a maximum of 3 ACs against a unique contract account (CA) number, according to report.
