Upcoming dividend: Shares of top stock market-listed companies like Nestle India, Escorts Kubota, Paras Defence, Biocon, Welspun, Mahindra & Mahindra, etc will remain in focus next week because of their dividend record date.

More than 15 companies have fixed dividend record date between June 30 and July 5. A company decided a record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for corporate actions like dividends, stock split, bonus issue, etc. A company scrip is said to go ex-dividend on the record date when the cut-off date has passed for shareholders to become eligible for shareholders to become eligible for the next dividend payment.

Other than these corporate actions, the stock market investors will closely monitor geopolitical developments related to Israel-Iran tensionsg, US-India trade deal, etc. The Indian stock market recovered its losses in the past few trading sessions. The Nifty 50 surged around 2.93% in past five trading sessions. Whereas, BSE Sensex surged around 3% in past five trading sessions.

Recovery in the Indian stock market was also supported by the return of foreign institutional investors (FIIs). "FIIs made a strong comeback as net buyers on Thursday, with equity inflows exceeding ₹12,500 crore - highest single-day buying over the last eight months. We expect the market to witness a steady uptrend, supported by improving institutional inflows, prospects of a US-India trade deal, and sectoral tailwinds from RBI's liquidity measures and an above-average monsoon forecast," noted Siddhartha Khemka, Head - Research, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd.

Shares of Companies like Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries, Indian Hotels Company, Mirc Electronics Ltd, Sagarsoft, Cera Sanitaryware, JSW Infrastructure, Polychem, Bharat Seats, Axis Bank, Bharat Forge, Biocon, Escorts Kubota, Mahindra & Mahindra, Max Healthcare Institute, Nestle India, Petronet, Tech Mahindra, Welspun Enterprises, will trade ex-dividend next week.

In addition to these upcoming dividend record dates, Container Corporation of India Ltd has fixed July 4 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for bonus issue of 1:4. WHereas, Paras Defence has fixed 4 July as record date for stock split from Rs 10 to Rs 5 per share.

A dividend is a company's share of profit which the firm has decided to distribute among its shareholders after the announcement of quarterly result. The company determines the eligibility of its shareholders for dividend record date. To become eligible for a dividend payout it is important for investors to own the company stock on or before the dividend record date. Dividend payment are often liable to tax deducted at source, hence investors must closely monitor all the details of the dividend payment.
