US-Israel-Iran War: Iran is ready to abandon its nuclear programme if the United States presents a "satisfactory alternative offer," said Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi. His remarks come as the Islamic Republic continues to face escalating tensions and air strikes from Israel and the US on multiple fronts.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister expressed that the country will abandon its nuclear programme on the condition that if the US makes the right offer, reported Network 18 on Thursday.
"Iran is ready to abandon its nuclear program on condition that the United States presents a satisfactory alternative offer," Sky News Arabia, a pan-Arab news organisation, quoted the Iran minister. Goodreturns couldn't verify the development.

Iran Makes Conditional Offer To The US To Abandon Its Nuclear Programme
Iran's statement related to its nuclear programme came days after the US-Israel air strikes killed Iran's Supreme Leader, 86-year-old Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, last week. The air strike sparked a wider conflict in the Middle East. Earlier, Iran and the US were already carrying out nuclear talks to reach to a consensus on Iran's nuclear talks. While the statement hints at the revival of talks between Iran and the US related to the former's nuclear programme, there is uncertainty about what kind of alternative US will offer to the country.
US-Israel Air Strikes on Iran
The US and Israel launched air strikes on Iran last week. The two nations carried out 'Operation Epic Fury' on Februayr 28 and killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The attack followed failed backchannel talks, which had been run through Oman, on a possible nuclear agreement between Washington DC and Tehran.
Tehran stated it joined those indirect talks despite doubts about Washington DC's intentions. Iranian officials said there had been an agreed timeline for negotiations. According to Tehran, the strikes linked to Operation Epic Fury came before that schedule ended, reinforcing Iranian distrust of American commitments.
US Attacks Iranian Warship In Indian Ocean
In another development, a US submarine attacked an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, killing atleast 87 people onboard, reported AFP. The warship, IRIS Dena, had also participated in several naval exercises in India. Iran's warship was a Moudge class frigate.
Meanwhile, the US has also released visuals of attacks on Iranian warship. The US department circulated monochrome footage showing what appears to be a submarine periscope, followed by a distant blast at sea. While, the official death toll in the action is yet to be confirmed by Iran, the US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the strike on warship in Indian Ocean.
