Vedanta Ltd has announced Sonal Shrivastava as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Vedanta Ltd, with effect from 1 June 2023.
Shrivastava, who was previously associated with the Holcim Group, served as the CFO for the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions. She had been associated with Holcim since 2002, holding various leadership roles in finance throughout her tenure. At Vedanta, she will bring her expertise in financial leadership to drive the growth and development of the company.

Shrivastava has more than 26 years of expertise in finance leadership across a variety of industries. She graduated from BIT, Sindri with a bachelor's in chemical engineering and from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies with a master's in business administration.
Shrivastava's new position will see her in charge of the group's financial strategy, where she will be in charge of investor relations, accounting, tax, treasury, financial planning, and analytics, as well as promoting digitization and profitability.
Her professional background encompasses supply chain, finance, audit, strategy, and company growth. Additionally, she has experience working with renowned mining and energy corporations.
Ajay Goel, Vedanta's acting CFO, resigned on March 26 and his departure would take effect after April 9. The edtech startup BYJU's said last month that Goel had been named as its new CFO.
