Anil Agarwal-led mining and metals conglomerate, Vedanta Ltd is scheduled to announce its second interim dividend for the financial year 2025-26 today, August 21, 2025. The dividend decision will be taken during a meeting of the company's Board of Directors, as previously disclosed in a regulatory filing dated August 18.

In its filing to the stock exchanges, Vedanta stated, "A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company is proposed to be scheduled on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to consider and approve the Second Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2025-26."

This would mark the second time in the current fiscal year that the company is rewarding its shareholders through dividend payouts. This announcement comes on the back of Vedanta's consistent dividend track record, which has made it a popular stock among income-focused investors.
Vedanta Dividend Record Date: August 27, 2025
The company has already fixed the record date for determining eligible shareholders who will receive the dividend, if declared. According to the official filing, the record date is set for Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Only those shareholders whose names appear in the company's books at the end of this date will be eligible to receive the upcoming dividend.
"The record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement of the equity shareholders for the said dividend, if declared, is being fixed as Wednesday, August 27, 2025," Vedanta confirmed in its statement.
Vedanta Dividend History
Vedanta has maintained a strong dividend distribution history over the years. For FY26 so far, the company had already announced and paid an interim dividend of Rs 7 per share in June 2025.
In the previous financial year (FY25), Vedanta paid interim dividends on four separate occasions, rewarding shareholders with payouts of Rs 11, Rs 4, Rs 20, and Rs 8.50 per share, respectively. Similarly, the company was consistent with its dividend payments in both 2023 and 2022, issuing four dividends each year. The total payouts amounted to Rs 62.50 per share in FY23 and Rs 81.50 per share in FY22.
This consistent dividend distribution has contributed to Vedanta's high dividend yield, which currently stands at around 9%, making it one of the top dividend-paying companies on the Indian stock exchanges.
