Shares of Vedanta Limited and Hindustan Zinc will remain in focus on Thursday as the natural resources company Vedanta has said that it will consider and approve an interim dividend on December 18, while Vedanta subsidiary Hindustan Zinc will trade ex-dividend today.
On Wednesday, Vedanta Limited shares closed 2.63% higher at Rs 253.20 per share and the share price of Hindustan Zinc ended 0.12% higher at Rs 325.25 per share.

Earlier this month, Hindustan Zinc approved an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share i.e. 300% on face value of Rs 2 per share for the financial year 2023-24.
In a stock exchange filing, the company said: "We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company through resolution passed by circulation on Wednesday, December 06, 2023 have approved 2nd Interim Dividend of Rs. 6 per equity share i.e. 300% on face value of Rs. 2/- per share for the Financial Year 2023-24 amounting to Rs. 2535.19 Crores. The record date for the purpose of payment of interim dividend, as already communicated is Thursday, December 14, 2023. The interim dividend will be paid within stipulated timelines as prescribed under law."
Vedanta Limited:
The diversified metal and mining company Vedanta Limited informed via an exchange filing on Wednesday (Dec 13), that the company will consider and approve the second interim dividend of equity shares for the Financial Year 2023-24 on December 18.
The company has fixed December 27 as the record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement of the equity shareholders for the said dividend, if declared.
In an exchange filing the company noted, "Pursuant to Regulation 29 of Listing Regulations, Notice is hereby given that the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company (the "Board") is proposed to be scheduled on Monday, December 18, 2023, to consider and approve the Second Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2023-24."
It added, "...the record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement of the equity shareholders for the said dividend, if declared, is being fixed as Wednesday, December 27, 2023."
Vedanta said that the trading Window shall continue to remain closed for dealing in securities of the Company for all Designated Persons from Thursday, December 14, 2023, till Wednesday, December 20, 2023 (both days inclusive).
In the last three years, Vedanta shares have gained 72.83%, while in this year so far the stock is down almost 19.90%.
