As the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit approaches, 23 MoUs were signed between businesses and the state government, promising investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore. These agreements have the potential to create 70,000 new jobs in various sectors.
In preparation for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the state government of Gujarat has signed 23 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various business entities, securing proposed investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore. This brings the total number of MoUs signed to 100, representing potential investments of Rs 1.35 lakh crore in the state. The 10th edition of the biennial investor summit will be held from January 10 to 12 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Employment Generation and Sector-wise Investments
The 23 MoUs are expected to generate approximately 70,000 new employment opportunities in Gujarat. The agreements include investments in various sectors, with the port and related sectors set to receive an estimated Rs 27,271 crore, creating 10,100 jobs. The power sector will witness an investment of Rs 45,600 crore, leading to the creation of 5,500 jobs. Additionally, mineral-based ventures will receive an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore, generating 2,000 employment opportunities.
Engineering, auto, and other industries are poised to attract an investment of Rs 13,070 crore, resulting in 8,150 new jobs. Industrial parks, textiles and apparel, chemical and petrochemical sectors will collectively receive an estimated investment of Rs 4,469 crore, creating 34,650 jobs. The education sector is set to witness an investment of over Rs 3,100 crore, generating approximately 8,200 jobs, while the agro and food processing sector will receive an investment of Rs 3,500 crore, leading to the creation of 1,290 employment opportunities.
Presence of Key Government Officials
The signing of the MoUs took place in the presence of prominent government officials, including Gujarat Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput, Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel, and Minister of State for Industries Harsh Sanghvi.
Timeline and Locations of Proposed Industries
The industries envisioned under these 23 agreements are expected to commence operations between 2025 and 2030. These units will be established in various locations across Gujarat, including Amreli, Valsad, Hazira, Jamnagar, Kutch, Morbi, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad.
The signing of these MoUs marks a significant step in attracting investments and fostering economic growth in Gujarat. The diverse range of sectors covered by the agreements highlights the state's commitment to creating a conducive environment for businesses and industries.
