Italian electric two-wheeler brand VLF announced its entry into the Indian electric vehicle market on Monday. The company is collaborating with KAW Veloce Motors and plans to launch its e-scooter, Tennis, by the festive season this year.

Founded by designer Alessandro Tartarini in 1993, VLF will set up a manufacturing facility in Kolhapur. This facility will leverage the KAW Group's extensive six-decade manufacturing experience in the region to produce its two-wheelers.
Dealer Network Expansion
VLF aims to establish a strong dealer network across India, focusing on major tier 1 and tier 2 cities. The company plans to have 15 dealerships operational by the end of 2024 and scale up to 50 by March next year.
KAW Veloce Motors will handle both manufacturing and distribution for VLF. "In a market that is extremely competitive and constantly evolving, we need to create products that are stylish and have a strong personality," said Tartarini.
Aspirational Branding
VLF aims to make a significant impact on the Indian electric two-wheeler landscape by focusing on aspirational branding and premium riding experiences at affordable prices. "With VLF, we want to give Indian consumers a range of electric scooters that excel in design and performance," said Tushar Shelke, Managing Director of KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd.
The collaboration between VLF and KAW Veloce Motors is expected to bring innovative electric scooters to the Indian market. The new manufacturing facility in Kolhapur will play a crucial role in this endeavour.
By targeting major cities and establishing a robust dealer network, VLF aims to capture a significant share of the growing Indian electric vehicle market. The company's focus on stylish and high-performance products is expected to attract a wide range of consumers.
The launch of the e-scooter Tennis by the festive season marks an important milestone for VLF's entry into India. With plans for rapid dealership expansion, the company is poised for substantial growth in the coming years.
The partnership with KAW Veloce Motors will ensure efficient production and distribution of VLF's electric scooters across India. This collaboration leverages KAW's extensive experience and expertise in manufacturing.
Overall, VLF's entry into the Indian market represents a significant development in the electric vehicle sector. The company's focus on design, performance, and affordability is expected to resonate well with Indian consumers.
