Since Donald Trump's reciprocal tariff announcement, Apple Inc.'s shares have tanked by nearly 13%. The company's scrip closed nearly 7.3% lower at $188.38 on Nasdaq on Friday, April 4, and it has lost nearly 13% of its value in the last five trading sessions, especially after Donald Trump's tariff announcement on April 2.

Apple share price closed at $188.38 per share on Nasdaq on Friday with a market capitalisation of $2.83 lakh crore. The company scrip is trading near its 52-week-low mark of $164.075 apiece.
Apple Share Price Tank: Is It Still Attractive?
Thirteen out of thirty-three Wall Street analysts have given a 'buy' rating to Apple stock, whereas five have given a 'sell' rating and the remaining eleven have recommended investors to 'hold' the stock, according to US stock market tracking website Tipranks.
Warren Buffett's Portfolio
A large chunk of Berkshire Hathaway's investment portfolio includes Apple's shares, as per its 13F filing on February 14, 2025, about Berkshire Hathaway's holdings as of 31 December 2024. Apple shares constitute 22.2% of the portfolio of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. The American multinational firm holds around 30 crore Apple shares worth $565 crore (based on their current market price). Other than Apple, Bank of America Corp, American Express Company, Coca-Cola Company, and Chevron Corp are some of the other top stocks owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway.
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Clarifies Rumours of Backing Donald Trump
Amid rumours about Warren Buffett's support for Donald Trump's trade tariff announcement, the Oracle of Omaha recently clarified that he hasn't made any comments on the matter.
Few days ago, Donald Trump shared a video on Truth Social claiming Buffett had praised Donald Trump for his reciprocal tariff announcement move. The video was initially shared on Instagram by social media account 'American Papa Bear'. Later, it was reshared by Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social.
In the video, the narrator claimed that Warren Buffett called Trump's reciprocal tariff announcement as the "the best economic moves he's seen in over 50 years."
Hours after the social media post went viral online, Berkshire Hathaway released an official statement debunking the social media claim. Although the press release didn't make any reference to Trump's reciprocal tariffs, but it rejected the rumours related to Warren Buffet's statement.
"There are reports currently circulating on social media (including Twitter, Facebook and TikTok) regarding comments allegedly made by Warren E. Buffett. All such reports are false," read Berkshire Hathaway's statement made in press release dated 4 April.
Donald Trump Reciprocal Tariffs
Donald Trump, on April 2, announced reciprocal tariffs on more than 188 countries based on their trade deficit with the United States. He had announced a 10% base tariffs on all countries and imposed additional tariffs on them based on their trade deficit. Countries like China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, etc have been imposed with tariffs as high as 47%.
