West Bengal has begun a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. It is now important for voters to link their mobile number with their Voter ID (EPIC) to avoid any last-minute issues.
According to the Election Commission of India, the draft electoral roll was published on December 15, 2025 covering more than 7.66 crore voters across the state. The SIR process was done to clean up voter lists, verifying entries, and addressing issues related to unregistered or missing voters. Hearings for unmapped voters, which is about 31 lakh voters from the 2002 list, is currently ongoing until February 7th. Final electoral roll publication will be done on February 14th.

Linking your mobile number with your Voter ID is essential during the West Bengal SIR 2026 process. A registered mobile number allows voters to receive OTP verification for online form submissions. They can also access online voter services on official portals. Without a linked mobile number, voters may face difficulties in completing online corrections or updates.
The draft voter list can be checked on election commison official website (voters.eci.gov.in), ECINET app and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal website
