Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato's parent company Eternal, has revealed a new experimental wearable device called 'Temple', designed to monitor blood flow in the human brain. Goyal shared the first public image of the tiny golden sensor on social media, captioning it simply, "Getting there."

The image showed Goyal wearing the device on his forehead, immediately drawing attention online for its compact design and futuristic purpose.

What is Temple? Shared By Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal
In a detailed LinkedIn post, Deepinder Goyal described Temple as an instrument capable of accurate, continuous, and real-time measurements of brain blood flow during daily activities, unlike conventional devices that rely on short clinical tests. He emphasised that the device had been under personal testing for about a year and could eventually emerge as a global health monitoring tool.
Understand Deepinder Goyal's Temple Device and Theory Behind It
Temple is closely tied to Goyal's ongoing research on what he calls the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, an idea first proposed in November 2025. According to Goyal, the hypothesis suggests a possible direct role of gravity in the human ageing process, with the brain being the first organ affected.
The research focuses on three key areas: whether upright posture reduces blood supply to the brain, how sensitive regions such as the hypothalamus and brainstem respond to shifts in circulation, and how these regions may regulate the overall speed of ageing.
Posture and flow Whether upright posture reduces blood supply to the brain
Sensitive brain regions Response of hypothalamus and brainstem to changes in circulation
Age control How these regions regulate the ageing process
Goyal explained that even if the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis is not proven conclusively, brain blood flow itself is a scientifically recognised biomarker for cognitive health, longevity, and ageing. He noted that Temple's capacity to collect long-term data from everyday life could provide valuable insights for medical research and personal health tracking.
The device has been visible in public on multiple occasions, sparking curiosity about its function. In November 2025, during a Children's Day event at Vidya School in Gurugram, organized by Zomato Feeding India, photographs captured Goyal wearing the compact golden device near his right eyebrow.
Deepinder Goyal's Temple Launching Soon
On 8 December 2025, he posted another teaser on social media with the caption "Coming Soon", this time showing a clear image of the device positioned close to the eye.
Temple is being developed under Continue Research, a company funded by Goyal to explore the intersections of brain health, ageing, and longevity. According to Goyal, the device is an experimental measurement tool that could help researchers investigate whether subtle reductions in brain blood flow over time, potentially influenced by gravity, have an impact on cognitive function and the ageing process.
