Bad news for fans, as Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 has been called off after a sudden and dramatic halt just after nine days on air. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) ordered the immediate shutdown of the show's primary studio at Jollywood Studios in Bidadi, Bengaluru, citing serious environmental violations. Bigg Boss Kannada is Kannada television's most popular reality show, and has successfully aired for 11 seasons on Colours Kannada, but this abrupt shutdown of the 12th instalment of the show has shocked fans and the Kannada television industry.

Prime Reason Behind the Shutdown
According to KSPCB, Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 was found in violation of multiple regulations under the Water and Air Pollution Acts. Key issues which have been highlighted by the board included:
- Untreated sewage discharge into the surroundings.
- Non-functional sewage treatment plant on the premises.
- Poor waste management practices.
- Operation without mandatory environmental clearances.
After the announcement of the closure order, all contestants were evacuated immediately and sent to a luxury resort, where they remain under strict confinement, as per the report. The show's live production at Jollywood Studios has also been abruptly halted, and there is massive uncertainty about what will happen to the remainder of the season.
The production house is expected to present its case before the Karnataka High Court in the coming days. Neither Colours Kannada nor the show's production team has released an official statement regarding the incident.
Impact on Broadcast: Will the Viewer Be Able to See More Episodes?
In order to maintain continuity for viewers, the Colour Kannada channel is currently airing prerecorded content. So fans will be able to see the Bigg Boss Kannada episode on both Jio Hotstar and Colours Kannada.
However, the long-term future of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 is unclear as of now, as legal challenges will continue and the production team is looking forward to addressing compliance issues.
Coloer Kannada, in its Twitter handle Yestdteya, said, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, there was a delay in the broadcast of today's episode of 'Bigg Boss' on Jio Hotstar. We apologise for the inconvenience. Today's episode is now available to watch on Jio Hotstar."
Karnataka Government Response
As per other media reports, Eshwar Khandre, Cabinet Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Government of Karnataka, stated, "No one is above the law. Action had to be taken."
The sudden shutdown has been described as a significant disruption to one ofThe show, known for placing contestants under constant surveillance in a confined house, has drawn massive TRP ratings over the years.
Fan Reactions On Social Media
Die Hard fans of the reality show, hosted by actor Kiccha Sudeep, have expressed disappointment and concern over the sudden disruption, and it has sparked heated discussions on social media.
One disappointed fan tweeted, "I believe unnecessarily this government is targeting Kannada actors; you can see their next-level commitment when it comes to actors. Maybe for PR, or are there any other reasons? But we can see desperation to be on top of things, which is missing in other matters."
Another fan compared the Bigg Boss house to other areas in Bengaluru, writing, "I don't know if they have ever visited the KR market or Shivaji Nagar and measured the pollution level. Let this government publicise what rules are violated by the big boss's house and compare that with KR market and Shivaji Nagar. This is a pure case of politics!!!"
The future of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 is currently uncertain, and only time will tell whether the show resumes or not.
