Arjun Mohan was part of the founding team of Byju's and was previously the Chief Business Officer before joining upGrad as CEO in 2020. For the last three months he was working closely with the founder and Group CEO Byju Raveendran.
Mohan assumed the role at a time when the ed-tech startup is trying to monetize non-core assets to repay loans.

Arjun Mohan, former upGrad chief, has now been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India operations. He will succeed Mrinal Mohit, who has been at the Bengaluru-based ed-tech startup since day one. As per the company, Mohit is moving on to pursue "personal aspirations".
Mohan was part of the founding team of Byju's and rejoined the company in July to lead its international business.
"Arjun's return is a testament to his belief in our mission and the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead. His expertise will undoubtedly help our turnaround efforts and strengthen our position in the global edtech landscape," Raveendran said in a statement.
