Windergy India 2025 will host over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries in Chennai. The event aims to enhance dialogue on India's renewable energy goals and features a focus on wind power policies.
The 7th edition of Windergy India 2025 is set to take place in Chennai from October 29 to 31. This international trade fair and conference focuses on wind energy, aiming to stimulate the sector and promote discussions on India's renewable energy goals. Over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries are expected to participate, drawing an anticipated 15,000 visitors.

India's wind energy sector has seen significant growth, with installed capacity increasing by 153% from 21 GW in 2014 to 53.2 GW currently. The country ranks fourth globally in wind energy installations, reflecting its commitment to expanding renewable energy sources. The government has been actively implementing reforms to support this growth.
Windergy India 2025: A Global Platform for Wind Energy
Windergy India 2025 will feature pavilions from leading wind power nations such as Denmark, Germany, and Spain. These international participants will enhance the event's global appeal and value. The conference theme, "Wind Power: Policies and Partnerships Towards Aatmanirbharta," underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving India's renewable energy ambitions.
The Indian government has taken steps to boost the wind energy sector by reducing the GST on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5%. This tax reduction is expected to make wind energy more affordable and encourage innovation. Experts believe this change will help India move closer to its climate and energy security targets.
Government Initiatives and Industry Collaboration
Organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt Ltd, Windergy India 2025 receives support from the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The event serves as a crucial platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and technology partners to collaborate on achieving 100 GW of wind capacity by 2030.
The conference will provide a venue for exploring technologies and strategies that drive India's renewable energy growth. It aims to unite various stakeholders in the industry to collectively work towards a net-zero future. This aligns with India's broader renewable energy landscape, which continues to make remarkable progress.
By fostering meaningful dialogue among key players, Windergy India 2025 seeks to energise the sector and contribute significantly to India's renewable energy ambitions. The event's focus on policies and partnerships highlights the collaborative efforts needed to achieve these goals.
