Social media giant X has announced a major reduction in its subscription fees for Indian users, cutting prices by up to 48% across its Basic, Premium, and Premium Plus plans. The updated pricing is now live on the Elon Musk's X portal and is applicable for both mobile and web subscriptions.
X Premium Subscription Price Cut
The X Premium subscription on mobile apps has seen the sharpest price cut. The monthly cost has dropped by 48%, which is now priced at Rs. 470, compared to the earlier Rs. 900 per month. The price difference on mobile is mainly because of the additional app store charges.
Users who subscribe to X Premium get a verification checkmark, along with features like post prioritisation, reduced ads, and access to additional tools. However, this version still includes some ads and does not include access to AI features like SuperGrok.

Web Subscription Fees Also Reduced
X has also cut down its web subscription fees. The Premium plan on the web is now Rs. 427 per month, down from Rs. 650, a 34% reduction.
The Basic tier of X subscription, which offers features like editing posts, posting longer content, downloading videos, and background video playback, is now priced at Rs. 170 per month, which is down around 30% from Rs. 243.75 per month previously.
For annual Basic subscriptions for X, the fee has now been reduced by 34%, and the users will now pay Rs. 1,700 per year instead of the previous rate of Rs. 2,590.48 per year.
X Premium Plus Now 26% Cheaper
The Premium Plus plan on X, which offers a completely ad-free experience, has also been revised. The monthly subscription for web users is now priced at Rs. 2,570, bringing it down about 26% from Rs. 3,470.
The mobile version of Premium Plus is now Rs. 3,000 per month, compared to the earlier Rs. 5,100, in which the user can now enjoy a 41% discount. This highest-tier plan unlocks all of X's features, including article writing and exclusive access to SuperGrok AI (Grok 4). These tools are unavailable in lower-tier plans.
