The continuous rise in the Yamuna River's water level has submerged the approach road to Yamuna Bank Metro Station, leaving it inaccessible to the public. This flooding is a result of recent heavy rainfall across Delhi-NCR. While the station remains operational for train interchanges, passengers are currently unable to enter or exit the station from the ground level due to waterlogging.
Yamuna Over Danger Level; Are Yamuna Bank & Other Metro Station Operational Today?
Yamuna Bank Metro Station plays a vital role as an interchange point on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro, linking key routes towards Anand Vihar Terminal and Noida. Though the metro services continue to run, the inaccessibility of the station's approach road is causing inconvenience to daily commuters.

The station lies on the Rajiv Chowk-Yamuna Bank-Vaishali corridor, making it a major link for passengers from various parts of East Delhi and Noida. Trains going to Vaishali and Noida continue to pass through Yamuna Bank, but passengers are advised to avoid using this station for boarding or deboarding until the water recedes.
Heavy Rainfall Affects Thousands of Daily Delhi Metro Commuters
This disruption is affecting thousands of daily commuters who travel between Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and other key residential and commercial zones in Delhi-NCR. Many of these commuters rely on Anand Vihar Terminal, a critical railway hub for trains heading to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other eastern states. With the approach road cut off, passengers are being urged to use alternate routes and make travel arrangements accordingly.
DMRC Issues Advisory: Use Alternate Routes If You Are Using These Metro Stations
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an advisory to alert passengers about the situation. "Due to the escalating water levels of the Yamuna River, the approach road leading to Yamuna Bank Metro Station is currently inaccessible. Kindly plan your journey accordingly and consider alternate routes. However, the station is operational and interchange facility is available," DMRC said in a statement.
The impact of flooding is not limited to the metro system. Areas such as Badarpur village near Sonia Vihar and parts of Ghaziabad have also been affected. Water has entered residential areas, prompting the relocation of vulnerable populations-particularly elderly people and children-to relief camps set up by the Delhi government.
In these camps, basic necessities like food, medical supplies, and mosquito control measures are being provided. Still, some residents are choosing to remain in their homes, particularly those situated on slightly elevated ground.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and disaster response teams are actively monitoring the flood situation. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing to ensure safety and minimize disruption. Authorities have asked residents and commuters to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged areas, and follow official advisories until the situation improves.
Key Metro Routes Through Yamuna Bank Remain Operational
Despite access restrictions, trains passing through Yamuna Bank station remain functional. Services continue towards Vaishali via Laxmi Nagar and Anand Vihar Terminal, and on the Noida side through Akshardham and Mayur Vihar, connecting crucial urban centers. Metro operations are being closely monitored to ensure commuter safety during this time.
