The following are the highlights of Zee Media Corporation Limited's (ZMCL) financial results for the quarter and a half that ended on September 30, 2024, as authorised and recorded by the company's board of directors.
Zee Media reported on Friday that its second quarter, which ended in September 2024, saw a consolidated net loss of Rs 49.86 crore. In the July-September quarter of the previous fiscal year, the company reported a net loss of Rs 30.70 crore, as per a regulatory filing from Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL). During the quarter under review, its revenue from operations dropped 13.78 per cent to Rs 130.70 crore. In the same time of the previous fiscal year, it was Rs 151.59 crore. While Zee Media's overall income decreased 13.43% to Rs 133.12 crore in Q2FY25, ZMCL's total expenses increased 1.64% year on year to Rs 199.65 crore.

In Q2FY25, the company's digital portfolio, which includes 18 brands in 11 languages, had 1.9 billion pageviews and 214 million monthly active users. According to ComScore statistics from September 24th, Zee Digital is ranked third in the news and information category overall.
The company's shareholders, at their Extra Ordinary General Meeting on 22 October 2024, approved the issuance of up to 13,33,33,333 fully convertible warrants, each convertible into one fully paid up equity share of face value of Rs. 1 each, to certain identified Non-Promoter / Non-Promoter Group entities at a price of Rs. 15/- per Warrant, including Premium of Rs. 14/- per Warrant, on a preferential basis, subject to the Board's approval. This would raise funds for a maximum of Rs. 200 Crores.

With an astounding 58 million viewers, Zee News, the major Hindi news channel, has greatly expanded its market reach and is currently ranked fourth. The television network is now among the top Hindi news channels in the nation after improving its share from 10th place in week 03 of 24 to 6th place in week 41 of this year. Zee Business has a staggering 77.4% market share, an average weekly reach of 1.2 million, and an ATSV of 33.7 minutes, making it the industry leader in Hindi business news.
