State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest public lender, has announced a new set of revised annual maintenance charges for various categories of debit cards, slated to take effect from April 1, as per updates on the bank's official website. With these changes, SBI account holders can expect adjustments in annual maintenance fees across a spectrum of debit card options, including Classic, Silver, Global, Contactless, Yuva, Gold, Combo, and Platinum Debit Cards.
Under the revised fee structure, annual maintenance charges will see an increase of Rs 75 for specific categories such as Yuva, Gold, Combo, and Platinum Debit Cards. Meanwhile, other debit card variants like Classic, Silver, Global, and Contactless will also witness modifications in their annual maintenance fees.

Moreover, alongside the alterations in annual charges, SBI has also announced adjustments in fees pertaining to the issuance and replacement of debit cards. Notably, for individuals applying for a Platinum Debit card, there will be a requirement to pay Rs 300 as a minimum fee. However, issuance charges for Classic, Silver, Global, and Contactless Debit Cards will remain exempt from any additional fees.
In addition to these changes, SBI has outlined alterations in international transaction charges for debit card users. Account holders making enquiries at ATMs under international transactions will now incur a charge of Rs 25 along with GST. Furthermore, for ATM cash withdrawal transactions conducted internationally, a minimum fee of Rs 100 along with 3.5% of the transaction amount will be applicable.
Furthermore, alongside the modifications in debit card fees, SBI has also announced changes in certain credit card policies, effective from April 1. The bank has declared the suspension of reward points accrual on rent payment transactions for specific credit cards, with accumulated reward points set to expire on April 15 for those cards.
These developments signify SBI's ongoing efforts to streamline its fee structure and enhance customer experience. With the revised fee schedule coming into effect, it is crucial for SBI account holders to stay informed about these changes to manage their banking affairs efficiently.
For customers seeking further clarity on the revised fee structure or any other banking-related queries, SBI encourages reaching out to their customer service channels for assistance.
