An individual has to invest a minimum sum of Rs 500 each year in the PPF. This is the mandatory requirement as per rules governing PPF.
What Are the Penalties For Not Depositing The Minimum Amount in PPF
A penalty of Rs. 50 is levied if an individual fail to deposit a sum of Rs 500 during the financial year. This means that if you have defaulted for depositing the amount for two financial years then you must be ready to pay a total fine of Rs 100 for two years.
