DHFL Ashray offers an interest rate of 8.90 per cent on a 40 months deposit. If your deposit amount is above Rs 50 lakhs, you get an interest rate of 9.15 per cent on a 4-month deposit.
A 14-month, 24-month and 36-month deposit under Rs 50 lakhs, gives you an interest rate of 8.75 per cent.
This should be a good 1 per cent more than bank deposits.
Best in its class
This has to be the best company fixed deposit with a AAA rating. The cumulative deposit fetches you an interest rate of 8.90 per cent on a 24-month to 60-month deposit. Senior citizens get an interest rate of 9.10 per cent.
For those looking at interest rates that are paid every quarter, you get an interest rate of 8.40 per cent to 8.60 per cent.

Shriram Transport Finance fixed deposits are again AAA rated. They offer you an interest rate of 8.6 per cent for the cumulative scheme under 36, 48 and 60 months. This may not be the best, but, is pretty competitive.
Deposits backed by govt of Kerala
KTDFC is a government of Kerala owned company and the deposits are backed by the government of the state.
A one, two and three year deposit fetches an interest rate of 8.50 per cent. For senior citizens the interest rate is 8.75 per cent.

Shriram City Union Finance fixed deposits are rated AAA by Crisil and ICRA . They offer you an interest rate of 8.6 per cent for the cumulative scheme under 36, 48 and 60 months.
A very safe deposit
HDFC fixed deposits come with an interest rate of 8.35 per cent to 8.40 per cent on cumulative deposits. This may not be the highest when compared to peers, but, is still a few notches above bank deposits.
