Mutual funds over the year 2022, have generated decent returns for investors, thanks to markets rallying in 2022, with the Sensex breaching a new record of 63,000 points. Here are some 5-star rated equity mutual funds that investors could consider for 2023.
Quant Small Cap Fund
This is one small cap fund that has been rated well by most analysts and finance portals. It has a 5-star rating from Value Research, Groww and Morningstar. It has a Number 1 ranking from Crisil as well. The fund has given much superior returns when compared to its peers. The three year annualized returns is 55%, which is fantastic. Among the top holdings of the fund include names like ITC, Ambuja Cements, IRB Infra, Himachal Futuristic. Investors who are keen to start an SIP cam invest small sums of Rs 5000 every month. The minimum investment required for lumpsum investment is Rs 5000. Investors need to be warned that this is a high risk fund and they need to be careful.
Canara Robeco Bluechip Equity Fund
This is a largecap fund unlike, Quant Small Cap Fund. Canara Robeco Bluechip Equity Fund tends to invest money in largecap stocks, which generate returns over a longer period of time. The fund has also been rated 5-star by Value Research, ET Money and Grow. The portfolio of the fund has extremely good quality stocks, including the likes of HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank etc. The 3-year returns from the fund is around 19% on an annualized basis, while the 5-year returns if 16% or thereabouts. The assets under management of the fund is around Rs 8,500 crores, which maybe a little less when compared to some of its other peers.
Axis Midcap Fund
While the above two are a smallcap and largecap fund, Axis Midcap Fund as the name suggests is largely a midcap fund. The fund has been rated 5-star by Morningstar and Valu Research. About 92% of the holdings are invested in equities. Among the top holdings of the company are ICICI Bank, Cholamandalam and Trent. One can start an SIP in the fund with a minimum amount of Rs 100, while the minimum lumpsum amount that can be invested is Rs 500. The fund has generated a 3-years annualized returns of 22%. For investors looking to invest for the long-term, this is a good investment to consider.
