LPG - Aadhar: Lower-income families in Goa will have to provide Aadhaar for refilling three LPG cylinders annually under the Chief Minister's Financial Assistance scheme which offers a subsidy of Rs 275 per month per family. In the latest development, the state government has made the 12-digit biometric identification mandatory for availing of LPG subsidy.
As per the notification, citizens who are looking for benefits offered by the Chief Minister's Financial Assistance scheme will be required to provide Aadhaar details as proof and follow the Aadhaar authentication process for Rs 275 LPG subsidy per month.

If anyone does not have an Aadhaar number, they will be required to apply for one at any enrolment centre identified by UIDAI. Aadhaar is compulsory for registering under the scheme.
However, if you have already applied for the Aadhaar and are yet to receive it, then Goa's government has announced a temporary relief by allowing these citizens to submit their bank or post office passbook attached with photo and other identification proofs.
Other identification proofs are --- PAN card, passport, voter ID card, MGNREGA, driving license, ration card or Kisan photo passbook.
Furthermore, to curb challenges that could emerge due to failed biometric authentication, the government has announced various measures. Some of these are -- beneficiaries of the scheme with poor fingerprint quality will be able to use an Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) scan or face authentication. If these methods fail, then Aadhaar OTP or time-based Password (TOTP) will be the alternate option. However, if Aadhaar-based authentication fails, then the beneficiaries will be allowed to submit physical Aadhaar where verification could be done through a quick response code.
LPG Prices In Goa:
Outside the scheme, the Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) price in Goa (Panjim) stands at Rs 817.00. No change was recorded in the LPG price compared to last month. The LPG price has remained unchanged at Rs 817.00 since March 2024. Over the past 12 months, the LPG price trend has been decreasing, with a decrease of Rs 86 from February 2024 to January 2025. The most significant price decrease was Rs 86 in March 2024.
The LPG price in Goa is mainly determined by the state-run oil companies and the same is subject to change on a monthly basis based on the global crude fuel rates. The rise in crude oil leads to a rise in the LPG rates in Goa and vice-versa. LPG is a safe and colourless gas and hence its use has tremendously increased in the domestic and industrial sectors. The government of India is currently providing domestic LPG Gas cylinders (14.2 kgs) in Goa at subsidized rates to the low-income section of the society. The subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the customer's bank account. Currently, cooking gas in India is easily accessible to most of the people.
