Indian Bank has reduced interest rates on its certain special fixed deposit schemes (FD schemes), days after the Reserve Bank of India(RBI) announced a 50 basis points repo rate cut. Indian Bank's IND Secure Special FD rates have been reduced for general customers, senior citizens as well super senior citizens.
Apart from Indian Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and other lenders have also reduced their fixed deposit rates. Reduction in FD rates by Indian lenders has come after the RBI announced a reduction in repo rate cut to 5.5%. The decision will decrease home loan lending rates as well as FD rates.

Indian Bank's special FD rates have been implemented on June 9. Here are all the details about Indian Bank Special FD rates. The impact of RBI repo rate cut may lead to further decline in FD rates by other lenders. Indian Bank has reduced its repo rate by up to 50 basis points across different tenures. These new rates will come into effect from 9 June.
Indian Bank Fixed Deposit Interest Rates
For a tenure of 1 to 2 years, Indian Bank now offers an annual interest rate of 6.6%, down from the previous 7.1%. For a specific tenure of 444 days, the interest rate is now set at 6.9%, compared to the earlier rate of 7.15%.
The bank's interest rate for deposits with a tenure of 2-3 years has been revised to 6.40%, previously at 6.7%. Fixed deposits with a five-year term will now earn an interest of 6%, reduced from the earlier rate of 6.25%. Deposits exceeding five years will offer a return of 6%, down from the previous rate of 6.10%.
Indian Bank's IND Secure Scheme
Introduced on May 8 this year, Indian Bank's IND Secure scheme allows investments ranging from ₹1000 to just under ₹3 crore with callable options for a maturity period of 444 days. This scheme remains available until September 30, 2025.
The scheme currently offers an interest rate of up to 6.90% for the general public, reduced from an earlier rate of 7.15%. Senior citizens receive a higher rate at 7.40%, while super senior citizens are offered an even more attractive rate of 7.65%.

IND Green FD Scheme
IND Green FD Scheme was introduced in 26 March 2025. The special FD scheme comes with tenure of 555 days and people can invest in the scheme with a starting amount of Rs 1000 and a maximum investment amount of Rs 3 crore.
