A Savings account can be opened by anyone, the main purpose of this account is to encourage savings.

This process is more relevant for those who have time constraints to visit a branch and go through the procedure.

Step 1
Visit the bank site and download the online account opening form. Some banks like ICICI Bank allow you to fill the details online. While, SBI you can submit the form online.
With HDFC Bank, you can submit the form online, the concerned people will come and collect the documents at your doorstep.
Nomination
Nomination is the important step in filling the form and most of the banks have made it mandatory to fill the nomination fill to form to be excepted. However, nomination made can be changed anytime later.
Step 2
Be ready with the documents once you submit your documents such as:
Passport, Voters Id Card Aadhaar Card, Drivers License, PAN Card, Property Tax Bills
Photo Id Cards issued by State/Central Government/Agencies, Senior Citizen Card, Photographs as required.
However, any one address and ID proof will serve the purpose, you may need supporting documents if the bank employee insists. Some banks also ask you to submit your documents online.
Step 3
Once your verification of a document is complete you will receive your welcome kit. Or one can visit the bank collect it, depending your bank procedure.
