Trump Proposes Permanent Pause on Immigration from Third World Countries to Enhance National Security
US President Donald Trump has announced plans to "permanently pause" immigration from "Third World Countries." He aims to allow the American system to recover. This announcement was made through a detailed post on Truth Social. Trump criticised current immigration policies, claiming they hinder technological progress and worsen living conditions.

Trump outlined several measures his administration intends to implement. These include reversing what he calls "millions of Biden illegal admissions" and deporting individuals deemed non-beneficial to the United States. He also plans to end federal benefits for noncitizens.
Additionally, Trump aims to denaturalise migrants who he believes threaten domestic peace. He plans to deport those considered public charges or security risks. Furthermore, he wants to address what he describes as illegal admissions through unauthorised processes.
The announcement followed an incident where two National Guard members were shot near the White House. Investigators linked the ambush to an Afghan national. Trump blamed the attack on the previous administration's immigration vetting policies.
In response, the Trump administration has begun reviewing asylum cases approved under the Biden administration. They are also scrutinising Green Cards issued to citizens of 19 countries. This follows the revocation of around 80,000 non-immigrant visas for offences ranging from DUI to assault.
Changes in Visa Policies
Earlier this month, thousands of visas were revoked by the administration. These actions were taken for various offences, including driving under the influence, assault, and theft. Social media vetting and expanded screening have also been tightened.
Trump criticised the previous administration for allowing unvetted Afghan nationals into the country. He shared an image of a large crowd from Afghanistan, expressing his commitment to fixing the situation and holding those responsible accountable.
In his Thanksgiving message, Trump stated, "HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for You won't be here for long!" This message underscores his administration's firm stance on immigration.
Trump's focus on immigration has been a central aspect of his presidency. He reinforces his belief that both legal and illegal immigration pathways pose security risks to Americans.
